I think the eye goes over and discovers new wonderful blocks and fabrics, not just skims over because it is all the same. Seems like those bias edged pieces are so much better after they have been put in their place with a longarm quilting!julieQhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00509047751868460895noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18199660.post-8904752902523067532008-06-19T16:53:00.000-06:002008-06-19T16:53:00.000-06:00Goodness, OK, I was beginning to think you were su...Goodness, OK, I was beginning to think you were superwoman, this makes me feel better, this sounds like me, letting something languish for several years before finishing. It is amazing what taking a picture will let us see, I discovered this recently. I love the colors! Bravo to finishing!
I agree with the calico quilter, this actually gives the quilt a more 3 dimensional quality.
Vickiknittingdragonflieshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17169526890100212019noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18199660.post-79878852132880516342008-06-19T14:35:00.000-06:002008-06-19T14:35:00.000-06:00What a striking quilt! It gives the quilt "peaks and valleys" of contrast, for lack of a better term. The blocks that are higher contrast pop out at you, and others you have to look harder at to see the details. I think it's more interesting thal all the blocks being similar contrast. The eye moves around more between the blocks. On the other hand, I'm self-taught, so what do I know? The Calico Quilterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01772374749065425388noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18199660.post-73130969659236546392008-06-18T13:52:00.000-06:002008-06-18T13:52:00.000-06:00Fun colors but I would do the same thing as you fo...Fun colors but I would do the same thing as you for the 'sinking' colors.
