Miscellany

I have all my fabrics collected from the stash to start making the Siggy Blocks this weekend. I think this is going to be so fun! I would love to do some type of embroidery or embellishment on my blocks, but since there are 40 of them and I have a day job then I have to find a way to personalize my blocks without a heavy investment of time. But I want them to look nice too!

I'm still working on Banana-fana but the Convergence Quilt has stalled. Once I have the Siggy Blocks stitched up then I will move on to Banana-fana. The Convergence is on the back burner for now.

I have to stop knitting for a while as my left hand is just aching. I've been knitting too much. I'll finish the pair of sox on the needles and then put put the pointy sticks away for a while. This will give me time for reading and other handwork. It's funny, but I can quilt or do hand sewing or embroidery, but if I knit for a long time (as in weeks) my hand just kills me. I suppose that the subzero temps aren't helping any either. Magic Lady put it into perspective for me. I was whining about not being able to knit for a while and she said, "Sewing. Quilting. Reading. Oh darn." I should feel fortunate that I can still do the others. Thanks for knock on the head, Magic Lady.

CarGuy has a fire built in the wood burning stove and the house is getting toasty. I can hear the lid on the copper tea kettle that I keep on top of the stove rattling so that means the water is hot enough for tea. I'm going to wish you all a wonderful weekend. Stay warm.

  1. Stay warm. It is supposed to be cold here too, but still above zero. Did the iron cleaner cause your smoke detector to go off?

  7. Enjoy that swap. I was going to sign up, but the numbers swelled too quickly! I just don't see myself getting 40 of anything done, on top of all that I'm doing now. Bah, humbug! =( But you will have a great collection!

Your last paragraph sounds so great!
