What I've been up to lately

228560983

I have a hard time doing anything. Why is it that when you can't use something all of a sudden you seem to get stupid?

Update 2/8/07: the wrist is getting better, I can actually pick up and hold onto a mug of tea! Of course, I have not been doing much of anything: only reading and some typing. Next week's massage appointment (the first I've ever had) will tell me more. Do I give up knitting and crocheting? The yarn vultures are circling my yarn stash! I may have a yarn garage sale in my future.

  1. Oh no - I hope you get better soon. What is causing the pain in your left hand? I worry about that sometime - what if in old age I were to get arthritis is my hands and I couldn't quilt? - the horror. Take lots of Aleve ( I'm still annoyed that we can't buy it in Canada)

  2. Ugh - and the afflicted part always gets bumped and in the way, too. I hope that feels better quickly so you can get back to playing!

  3. Oh my! I am always amazed how much I rely on something. I usually figure it out when I can't use it - water, electricity, computer, my back.
Take care of yourself and hope you feel better soon. On the plus side, you have added insulation for your hand!
    What happened?

  4. Rest it well so you can be right back in fine form.

  5. I empathize strongly! I have to wear heavy support gloves every day due to worn out thumb joints, that can only be fused, not replaced. I like fusing in my quilts, not my hands. So I quilt with methods that I can do with painful, stiff hands. Hope yours is temporary.

Love your birdbath with the milk can base. I have a couple of milk cans but never thought to use them that way.

  6. My heart goes out to you. It is so sad to want to do something that you love and cannot do at the moment. Sending healing thoughts your way.

  7. Oh - do be careful with that hand/wrist. If knitting is really aggrevating it give knitting a rest for a few weeks. I got really bad RSI a few years ago and was out of action for a whoel year - seriously frustrating. It took me a long time to get things right again. Don't ignore what your body is trying to tell you. Take care of yourself :)
