About that email....

DON"T SIGN UP!!!!

I hit the wrong button and now everybody I know is getting spamed. *sigh*.

I am so sorry.

I am not a fan of social networking sites such as this. I got suckered. I have already gone into the site and canceled my account, but I fear it may be too little, too late.

Once again, I apologize for not paying attention.

Paula

  1. It started pulling all the people from my address book. I got an unhappy note from my Uncle.

  2. But I'm thinking maybe I'll strike up some new conversations with some old friends!

  3. I actually received 4 of these today, but yours was the first. I clicked on the button to "block Tagged.com"... I hope that wasn't a mistake! I got it from a couple of people I didn't even know -- why was I in their address books, anyway?

  5. Since it went to my junk mail, I figured it wasn't really from you and didn't open it up. Thanks for letting us know.

  6. I just cheerfully deleted it - figured you didn't mean to send it, and knew I wouldn't sign up. :)

  7. I got it too, I clicked to see the image and before you know it, I was into the site and seeing my own email list! I back tracked fast as I could, but didn't see how to delete. Do you remember how you deleted the account...I should double check if I did it right. I wrote a post on it as fast as I could after a little of my usual research on the subject, of course ;) Dont' feel bad, Paula..I clicked and I'm the Queen of stopping Urban Legends and Spam Mail Warnings and I still clicked!

  10. Hi Paula

I thought it might be a little sus, so I came to your blog. Thanks for posting about it. I will delete it before I even open it.

  11. Don't worry Paula - I think it is reasonable to think that companies would be ethical and wouldn't take over your email list to send anything to your friends without your permission. I'm not sure how they figure that anyone will want to have anything to do with this site when the first thing they do is this horrendous.

  15. Well, I clicked on the no thank you button but of course that was the same as saying YES! Such a weird thing - what is the object of them doing this?

  16. No problem Paula, It seemed like something I didn't want to happen and I almost wrote you an e-mail apologizing for not being friendly but then my husband knew about this spam and we quickly deleted it. Stuff happens.
