What to do with felted sweaters

You know, the wool sweaters that went into the hot wash and shrank. Make mittens! Here is a stack of ten pairs of mittens waiting to be stitched. And then they will be whisked away to benefit the homeless. Felted woolens make the best mittens: thick, warm and almost waterproof.

  1. How do you stitch them? Stitch with right sides together and then turn right side out?

  2. Much faster than knitting! Felted wool is sooo warm and the wind doesn't go through it either. Very nice gifts and sure to be put to excellent and immediate use! Cheers! Evelyn

  7. What a great idea . . . . I had my first 'accidental' felting of one of Hubby's work sweaters a couple of weeks ago *oops* I through it down with the quilting stuff because I just knew there would be something I could do with that beauty that was only worn a couple of times.
