The Dragon

Janet's Dragon by Barbara Caves, Colorado

On Saturday, I went to Quilt Colorado 2010 in Estes Park with four other ladies. MagicLady and I go to quilt shows together and we have a routine that fits us. We always start by viewing the quilts and we will stop and discuss pros and cons and techniques and exclaim over each quilt. It takes us a while to get through a quilt show. Only after we view all the quilts do we then go to the vendors mall.

Two of the other ladies hit the vendor's mall first and if they even saw the quilt show I'd be surprised. Halfway through the quilts, the fifth lady came up to us and said everybody was waiting for us in the lobby of the hotel. O dear! We rushed through the rest of the quilts and essentially bypassed the vendor mall. Sadly, this is the only photo I took. After whizzing through the rest of the show, we found the ladies in the lobby resting their feet, not 'waiting' on us. O well. *shrug*

I think I've mentioned that I collect dragons. This one is exceptionally well done and by someone here in my home town!

  1. That's simply exquisite. The quilting is really something to see. While this may be the only photo you have to share, it's a grand one!

I'm actually glad you finally posted something. I've been waiting in the virtual lobby since Monday kidding silly *karendianne.

  2. That is beautiful, I wouldn't know where to begin.

That is the definite downside to doing events in "groups". I hope the stash didn't suffer as a result. ~ksp

  3. Oh dear....I love looking a the quilts, too.....I'm like of the slow one in our group when it comes to looking at the quilts. Glad you got to at least see your favorite ....the Dragon.

  4. Wow what a beauty - if a bit scary, but i suppose a dragon is meant to be scary.
What a shame you were made to feel you had to rush.

  5. The dragon is lovely!

  6. I really like looking at quilts too, especially when there isn't anyone around - no one behind me rushing me, no one in front of me slowing me down. It is nice when there is someone with me I can discuss the quilt with, but it is hard to find someone who is willing to go my pace. :)
Sorry you didn't get to see the whole show.
    Beautiful dragon.

  7. It is funny how we go to a quilt show and sometimes miss the quilts. I like to take my time and look at the quilts too. So often, I will ask my friends what they thought of this quilt or that one, and they won't even know what I am talking about!

  8. Wow! That is beautiful!
I hate it when someone rushes me through something I'm looking at! Durn

  9. This is the trouble with attending shows with others . . . . so many different styles, but everyone must be tolerant of those differences. Glad you got to enjoy the parts you did *s*
