OTN - July 6, 2012

Really, it isn't what is ON the needles as what is OFF the needles on this hot day in July. I got one sock off the needles and I am ready to cast on the second. I like to knit socks one at a time on two different lengths of circular needles. What is also nice about the different lengths of the cable is that the two needles on the shorter length are also shorter. I use that circ to visually tell me which is the sole side of the sock.

I finished all the fingerless mitts. There are three pair of the black metallic, four pair of the silver and black metallic and one pair of the rayon/silk. The 'yarn' was quite different to work with. The metallic felt like plastic, but then I suppose it was mylar so it would feel that way. The rayon/silk had no give so I had to work it with different stitches. The rest of that yarn is going into a scarf, which does not need to stretch. All the mitts are labeled and ready to go for sale.

  4. I really like the blue Regia yarn. A friend gave me some for my birthday and so I'll use it to make my next pair of socks. I also prefer to use two circular needles, but I like to knit two socks at once. Your mitts look awesome.

  6. I need your help again. I started the skyp sock on two circular needles and will be ready to put my stitches on DPN's Usually I divide my stitches onto 3 needles. I see that she has four needles. does that mean that she actually uses a set of five. I have only used 3 PDN and use the 4th to knit with. Thanks your all your help
