Materials/Techniques: I used a vintage fabric panel, hand embroidery with DMC floss and perle cotton, and a fused butterfly, then machine quilted. This quilt was created to help fulfill my $1000 Promise pledge.
Artist Statement: Legend says that if one follows the Meadow Dancer, the secret of protection from any enemy will be found.

ReplyDeleteIts beautiful Paula- love the special embroidery touches. This is a cause close to my heart because my mother in law developed Alzheimer's in her later life. It was a terrible ending to a wonderful life. Thanks for creating something beautiful to honor the many people who are affected by this very debilitating illness.

Paula, I bought your quilt!! I'm an occasional visitor to your blog (no blog of my own) and when I saw your post of the finished quilt it really spoke to me. I think it was meant to be mine because I randomly checked your blog when you posted the link to buy it and I immediately clicked over and found it could be mine. I received it today and it's as beautiful as I thought it would be. I lost my mother to Alzheimer's almost 20 years ago; I miss her every day. She loved gardening and butterflies and would have loved your quilt too. Thank you for your work and donation to the cause.
