This 'n That

Just some randomness.

• worked on the Snowman quilt a little bit. I now have all the straight lines laid in and the applique is echo quilted inside the applique with invisible thread. I started on the background on one of the blocks. Bleck. There is not enuff room for wind and snow. I am now unquilting that block. I'll have to do a medium meander.

• it rained 1.26 inches in one hour yesterday afternoon. Woohoo! moisture!

• I have taken all the advice on the blue and white quilt and decided that I am not going to applique on it. Rather, I am going to make a wallhanging with the leftover fabric and put the applique on that.

• I took the blue and white quilt to a long armer today. She is starting up her business again and doesn't have a waiting list. I'll get this back in a week.

• think I'll take the Minnesota Hot Dish top to her when I pick the other one up.

• the weeds are getting out of control around here.

• once again it is a good thing I'm not in the no-buy August thingie. All the batting at Hancock Fabrics was 50% today. I bought 4 queen sized Hobbes Heirloom White 80/20 bats.

• grocery shopping. I hate it and put it off until there is nothing in the house to eat. Just ask CarGuy. Tomorrow is the day I have to do it.

• I'm knitting a pair of sox on a 40" Addi Turbo circular needle. Two sox on one needle. I do okay with this pattern until I have to turn the heel. I have a terrible time with short rowing, but I haven't found a pattern for a toe up sock with a heel flap that I can adapt to this technique. I'll keep looking. I'm also stash busting yarn.

• I'm down to 2 quilt tops to quilt. One if I take the Minnesota Hot Dish to the LAer. Goodie! Then I can start in on some of the other UFOs that I have.

  1. Sounds like you are making good progress on several fronts. Well done! And I'm so happy rain is arriving to some of our country's parched countryside.
