To say it's snowing...

is an understatement! We are in a blizzard. When I got into work this morning this is what I saw at the front door. LOL! What kind of fool am I, coming into work today? Don't know. But I'm going to walk the 1/2 block to the coffee shop for my Americano and stay at work another 1 1/2 hour and then mosey on home. That's if I can get home. The building I work in is over 100 years old and is a virtual icebox. There is the obvious, like what you see in the photo but then the subtle like single pane plate glass windows, brick walls, no insulation, and a very old furnace. It's cold in there. I wear a lot of layers. I have to. That's also why I knit wool sox. Or one of the reasons.

Okay, I'm back from the coffee shop. Whew! It wasn't bad going, but coming back was a bit of a trial. I was blinded by the snow blowing in my face. I couldn't open my eyes. I left my glasses on my desk because I don't have little windshield wipers on them, LOL! I was standing at the front door of the Studio (the door you see in the pic) trying to unlock it when I dropped my keys right into the (bigger) snowdrift that is the other end of the one you see in the pic. Big mistake. I fished them out, but my hands were cold and the keys were wet and freezing and as I was standing there fumbling to get the door unlocked the snow was plastering itself to my legs. By the time I got into the Studio, the back of my jeans were wet. Man, there is nothing worse than wearing wet bluejeans. Bah!

So here is today's pin. Scanning yesterday's worked so well, that I thought I'd do today's too. A former co-worker in Cubicle-land gave this angel pin to me. Her dress is glued onto metal flashing and it is bent just a bit to give her dimension. Add 2 beads, some clear acrylic finish and a pin back and Voilá! The dress is probably an origami paper or wrapping paper. She is a sweet little angel.

I'm going home. Keep warm.

I made it home. CarGuy had a nice warm fire in the woodburning stove and the aroma of stew filled the house. I think I'll keep him! Denver International Airport is closed. All flights are cancelled so if you have someone flying in from the west, check their flight -- it might be delayed.

  6. Sounds like you ust be close to my boy in Colorado Springs. He is to fly home to Portland, OR on Friday but weather doesn't look like that will happen. He is to be married here on Dec 28th. Keep our fingers crossed. Stay very very warm.

  7. Glad you made it home safe and warm. As for me I'm not jealous -- while I would love to have a white Christmas once in my life, this storm sounds like overkill to me *s*
