A Project Linus crocheted afghan required a trip to Hobby Lobby at noon today. I grabbed the skein of yarn I needed and was digging through my wallet for the 40% off coupon as I walked down the aisle. I glimpsed something from the corner of my eye and came to a screeching halt.
I remember in the late 1960's making a tube top from some of this stuff. But now I'm seeing it with a different eye. Don't you think that with the addition of some straps these would make the cutest little sundresses for a little girl? Adorable.
love this fabrics.......in summer I found some Strawberry fabric and made a dress for fairy girl.......so quick and easy and so pretty.......
ReplyDeleteI remember those dresses. I may have even had one sometime in the late 70's.
ReplyDeleteI bought two sundresses made from that type of fabric at the GROCERY store in the 70's. I remember paying $6 apiece for them. I loved them!
ReplyDeleteI made one for my granddaughter last summer. I cute it off and made it into a little summer top for her. Cute, cute!!!
ReplyDeleteI had one or two of those sundresses - that gathering made me itch like no ones business!
ReplyDeleteYou crochet too? WOW... (I bet you know how to macrame too, huh?)
That is what I did 12 years ago for my dd. Now to find a little girl I could make these for!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that someone remembers those dresses. I just made 6. Nothing like overkill, huh?
ReplyDeleteUm, yep. And I have fabrics to make two of them for my own little one. I just need her to stand still long enough to actually figure out how large to cut it. I'm thinking ribbon straps for one and scavanging the too much fabric purchased part for the other :0).
ReplyDeleteI agree, this takes me down memory lane, I didn't know they made this anymore.
ReplyDeleteIt would be lovely.

Just noticed these at Hancock Fabrics. They remind me of my "little girlhood" too. I think the fabrics are prettier now.
ReplyDeleteI did make little sundresses for my daughter out of those. that brings back memories..
