It's a Sickness, I Tell Ya

I bought a lifetime membership to Library Thing. It's cheap: $25.00 and you can put all your books in the database. So I got started. See the new item in my sidebar about Library Thing? I have 301 books in the database and out of those, 300 are fiber related (mainly quilting).

I haven't even gotten to the 3 bookcases of fiction. Sigh.

I seem to have found another stash that I didn't even realize that I had.

Collecting: it's a sickness. I need an intervention.

  1. You are not alone. Maybe we should start a support group. "My name is Tami and I am a stasher."

  3. Library Thing sounds very interesting! I have kept a list of books read for years, and tried Google library, but Library Thing sounds much better. I do not collect books, but read them and pass them on. Thanks for the tip!

  4. Is it contagious? Could I catch it just by being here? Or, do I already have it??

  5. I've got a book stash too. I was making a list of collections that I have - beanie babies, etc., and since I had recently cleaned two of the bookshelves, I had to add books to the list.
The thing with books though is that enough people have that kind of stash that it makes you look studied and studious, and there is no shame in collecting books. Stash on the other hand ...

I would spend my whole life in my comfy chair reading if I could.

Talk about books...my DH loves his non-fiction. He also indulges me in my fiction. Before we moved to Hawaii we did 8 (yes, eight) garage sales in a row, sold about 2000 (yep, 3 zeros) books and donated another 500 to the library AND still brought 40 boxes of books with us! Plus we continue to acquire! I have gone mostly to paperback and pass them around and trade them in. It does help some.

  10. LOL I am imagining a camera close-up view of you, as in the TV Show Intervention ... hiding behind your sweater as in your Photo, the camera following you around at a crooked angle, finally checking your addictive hobbies!

  11. Not a sickness . . . no, no - I can never admit to that. At least not until I am completely out of any sort of usable space *s*
