Frances Bugged Me

239343837

Here is Frances. There was something about her that really, really bothered me. She was a toe grabber. It was all my own fault: I was hasty when I machine appliqued the fans down to the background. I was younger then and not as conscientious then as I am now.

Needless to say, when she came back from the long arm quilter and the quilting was exquisite, I just knew something needed to be done about the applique. So in the evenings for the past several weeks I sat under her all cozy and picked out the machine applique (blind hem stitch before you ask) and then stitched it all down by hand.

Now she is washed, which I didn't want to do before because of the big gaps in the applique. Another soft and snuggly quilt.

  5. She is so beautiful! I went to the thrift store yesterday, and was tempted to buy a quilt that had a similar pattern, not as nice of course. It was beautiful but it was twin size so I forced myself to resist.

  21. Earlier in my life, I would hastily leave well enough alone...now I go back and fix up so it's done right.

I like it better that way!
