Ribbed Heel
Are you ready for another installment of "Heels & Toes"? On these socks, I went back to a very basic sock using a 2x2 rib. When it came time to do the heel, I adjusted some of the stitches so I could continue the rib patterning down the heel flap.
You can't tell it in this photo, but these are very large socks. Very. Large. Since I had two 100 gr skeins of this yarn, I made these socks as large as I dared. I used just a wee bit of yarn out of the second skein to finish up to toe on the second sock.
I dug out the crochet hooks and a bit of acrylic yarn and whipped out these two crocheted balls. Baby toys or cat toys, your choice. Then I whipped up a quick tutorial for you too. You can find it by clicking on the link or photo or the FREEBIES page at the top of this blog. It takes just a bit of yarn, time and polyester stuffing.

The socks are great, as are the heels. Did you do a plain heel turn?
ReplyDeleteDo you remember the sock yarn specifics?

ReplyDeleteI wish we were neighbors so I could coax you into helping me learn to knit socks! I have sock yarn, the needles I need, but I just need the nerve!
