Quilt Content Ahead!
I played hooky from the car show Saturday afternoon. I came home to my cool basement sewing room. I did a bit of cleaning and organizing. I noticed that the Double Wedding Ring quilt on the wall behind the iron really needed to be washed so I could get out all the overspray from the starch. I got this idea from Lucy at Quilting with the Past. She has little doll and small quilts on her walls. I, too, had some but they were scattered all over the sewing room. I gathered them up and here is the result.
I spent about 4 hours yesterday and today working on the Challenge quilt. I can't show a photo yet. But all the prep is done and is now ready to machine appliqué. It looks really good, if I do say so myself.
In September, I'm taking a machine applique class with Kelly Gallagher-Abbott of Jukebox Quilts. Kelly is the curator of the Hoffman Challenge and is a member of our local guild. I think this class is similar to Sharon Schamber's method. I'll find out. I'm still gathering up supplies for this class.
In October, I'm signed up for Bonnie Lynn McCaffery's class Painted Faces, also through the guild. I have all the supplies for this class in a bag by the door.
All the shows that we participate in are done with now, thank goodness. The only thing left is camping. CarGuy and I plan to do a bit of it up in the mountains still this year. There have been a lot of moose sightings up at Cameron Pass. And the bears! O my. Just remember, every where is bear country in this area.
