Quilts of Valor

I didn't think I had a photo of this quilt but it turns out I do.

When I took one of those Saturday sampler classes at a LYS, I decided to make the block from my fabrics before I used the limited supply that came with the instructions. This is the one I made from my fabrics. That fabric in there that looks like polka dots is actual small stars.

During the block construction, I had to make a decision on how I wanted to set the top together. It was when I was making the appliquéd heart block in the center portion because by changing the position of the hearts it can be put on point. This version is obviously a straight set. The other version, which, BTW, is not put together yet, is going to be an on-point set.

I've been in contact with Alycia of Alycia Quilts and I'm going to donate this finished quilt to Quilts of Valor. Alycia is on a mission to get a lot of quilts for this special project in May (400 quilts?). My one quilt is just a drop in the bucket but I hope it helps.
