Iron Update

Remember this post? Here's my update. I am still going to use all three. The new iron is very lightweight and doesn't get as hot as I would like. I was starching and pressing some fat quarters to cut and I ended up getting out the Black and Decker because it has the weight and hotness that I want. I will use the new non-steam iron for pressing the pieces as I sew because I think it will work great for that. The Panasonic is still the one I will use if I need steam. The Black and Decker will be used for ironing the wrinkles out of the yardage and for starching.

So how many people do you know who use three different irons?

  1. I would get to confussed using three different irons. I hope you don't and you enjoy all three of them.

  2. Ooohhh -- where do you store them all? Sounds like a pain, but I do understand your point. I really want an iron with no holes for pressing patchwork seams. My LQS has an Oliso iron, which I love, but not for new seams, and a Rowenta, which is wonderful but has holes (though I haven't gotten anything caught yet). I just have a Black & Decker.

  3. Why not? The right equipment for the right job. Makes sense to me. Look at all the cooking goodies in the kitchen drawer. I have several rulers and rotor cutters? Why not irons?

  4. Two! You and me! LOL...what can I say. I like them handy and they are useful in different ways. :)

  5. I don't use three irons, but I do have two. One regular iron and my applique iron, does that count?

  6. Oh dear - sounds testy to me. I am down to one that doesn't stem, but gets hot, and a spray bottle, and I'm not going to buy one more iron!!!!

  7. Well, I have three irons . . . does that count? I didn't think so *s* I use the one for most everything, the other as a backup and the third is a little travel iron that only goes on the road.

  8. I do like a heavy iron myself:) I got a new iron recently but it seems a bit more lightweight than the old one.

  9. I am iron-obsessed. Let's suffice it to answer your closing question this way... "you're not alone".

  10. I hear you! I have two. A Rowenta that I use for most everything and a Black & Decker for projects that I think might get messy like fusing, Angelina, stuff like that!
