Woolies

347736367
Remember the remark I made in a previous post about going into the Wool Basket? The Wool Basket sells felted wool, hand-dyed felted wool and wool felt along with all the miscellaneous items one needs to work with wool.

The purchase of a fat eight of a pink and a white felted wool resulted in these two sweet items. The pattern for the pincushion hat has lanquished in the To Be Made file for several years and then sighting on the internets brought it to the forefront again. I had held off making this because I did not want to start stashing wool.

Then I found this adorable pattern for a sewing caddy. And after all the hand work on Frances, I realized I needed something better and prettier to use than sticking the needles in the arm of the sofa.

Resistance was futile.

Your woolies are so pretty. I haven't work with wool in crafting or quilting yet but plan to. How hard is it to work with, in general, for stitching or perhaps appliquing? Does it needle easily enough? I want to make some bags, perhaps clothes on a prim doll, for example, maybe a pin cushion...

  2. You are just TOO clever. Those are the cutest! I have a couple of pieces of wool that I keep thinking I will felt myself, but so far, they are in the "still in the drawer" phase. I don't know where to buy it already felted, around here.

    Good work!

  3. Oh - they are both so sweet *s*

Maybe I'd better pull down the wool box and get to work. While I don't stick needles into the chair when I'm doing handwork, I do pin things to my t-shirt, blouse, sweatshirt, pj's. Must always do a 'pin check' before I pull it over my head to change close. An easy way to stick myself in the eye.

Can you tell me where you got the patterns for these woolies? I'm just a beginner and I think maybe this is something I can handle.
