Happy New Year

As the countdown to midnight draws nearer and nearer it is time to reflect on the past year. In September, Finn set a challenge for us to finish some things by New Year's Eve. The Quilter finished SIX instead of the promised three. Here they are in no particular order:

• a label on the Minnesota Hot Dish
• a two-fer: Helen and Hannah - pieced, tops finished, quilted and bound
• ALQS art quilt: Zen Garden
Savannah: quilted and bound
• and Frances was re-appliqued

Not to mention the crocheted angel tree topper and the wool pincushion and sewing caddy. Plus the 4SQS for spring and summer. Hey! does a top and backing that have not been handed off the to the Long Arm quilter count? They are packaged up and ready but we can't meet up until next month at the monthly meeting of the Material Girls. And then there are all those pairs of hand knit socks and the hats and scarves for the homeless.

All-in-all it has been a pretty productive quilt and fiber related year.

There is an old saying that whatever one does on New Year's day will continue through the rest of the year. Can you guess what I'll be doing?
