Timing is Everything

or in the right place at the right time.

A GF and I signed up for a one-day Mystery Quilt at a LQS. Normally, I do not do mystery quilts, but we needed a bit of girl-friend time. We were handed our first clue which included the amount of fabric and wonder-of-wonders the requirements were in values.

Inspired by a color choice I saw on a blog, I started pulling fabric. I was able to pull the light, medium and medium-dark yardage from the stash but not the dark fabric.

So I cruised into the LQS where we will be taking this class to look for a suitable dark fabric. Nothing jumped into my arms. But, and here is where the timing comes in, a fabric rep was in the store. I talked with one of the owners and the fabric that I had in mind is now on order and I will get my 4 yards in time for the class.

  6. We're being very brave, starting mystery quilts - I just blogged about a mystery too. And kudos for scoring just the right fabric. It pays to go to the source - a relationship with your local quilt shop lady is invaluable.
