The 'fur' at the top of the stocking is too light but I am not going to take it out. I'm thinking a bit of paint might darken it. Must use a very light hand. I'm closing in on the end of the smaller blocks. Keep in mind there is the center medallion and borders too.

ReplyDeleteGorgeous block and work.
ReplyDeleteLove the block. Lots of work!
ReplyDeletePaula, this is darling!! What about crayon tinting the edges of the fur top? Just a little dark cream or a light gray around the edges? I took a look at the blocks over on Flickr just now -- what a wonderful quilt this is going to make -- a real Christmas treasure! :)
ReplyDeleteI just love seeing each block!
ReplyDeleteIt is going to be stunning!
I did the same thing on my applique teapot, made a piece that blends into the background. It was suggested that I applique slightly darker fabric pieces for shading on the piece that is already there and that might work for you, too.
ReplyDeleteThe individual blocks are so cute! It will be fun to see them all together!
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be a true treasure!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous block!
ReplyDeleteSo darling! Quilt the "fur" with slightly darker thread, that will add the right texture, too! Can't wait to see it finished.
