Here is the center medallion of the Baltimore Christmas quilt. I did a massive 'push' to get this done over the weekend. This block has over 100 pieces in it and was a bit like a jigsaw puzzle to put together. Like before, all the embellishments will wait.
Next up are the borders and I hope to have them done by the end of the year. Makes it sound a long way off, doesn't it? But in reality, it is only 21 days away.
I need to find a long-arm quilter who will do custom quilting on it. Any suggestions?

ReplyDeleteMary Thomas of "Quiltations" in Portersville PA does beautiful custom work. I will try to attach a link to my quilt she did for the McCalls Design Star Challenge in 2010. The pictures, do not do the quilting justice... She used Victorian Feathers between the basket columns... It truly is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteYou go girl!! I noticed the polka dot pony--I have a real polka dot pony so it really caught my eye. Now how many zillion little pieces are there??
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful! 100 or more pieces , OMG! Jan, better known as Mrs Meatloaf, is an excellent custom quilter. I'll have to look up the link if you'd like to see her work.

Boy is he ever one gorgeous Santa. So how many of these quilts are you making again . . . LOL!
ReplyDeleteVery detailed! I love how your choice of fabric really adds texture too. Great job on getting it done in one weekend - before some of those small 100 pieces got scattered!
ReplyDeleteOh! I'm so excited to see this one up at BOMs Away, because it is on my Dream List. :) Can't start it, though, until I finish my Affairs of the Heart applique, and that won't be for a good 18 months or so. Will be fun to see yours come together!!!
